Biking in Bampton Valley
Quiet Bampton Valley is an ideal part of the Lake District to enjoy biking in many different forms, from road cycling to mountain biking.

Our Bike Hub in Bampton, with facilities shared between Bampton Valley Stores and The Mardale Inn, provides practical support facilities including:

An external bike maintenance station including a pump and a variety of tools (ask for free patches if needed!)

A selection of e-bike battery chargers (Bosch and Shimano available today) and access to power

Toastracks to store bikes (some under CCTV coverage)

A couple of bike lockers for secure overnight storage (bookable along with room reservation)

A washdown tap

Great options for coffee, cake, pasties, beer, dinner or a bed (depending on the time of day!)​

Funding of the new Bampton Valley Bike Hub has been led by the pub’s Community Benefit Society. A generous supporting grant has also been received from from the Rural England Prosperity Fund provided through Westmorland & Furness Council delivered by Cumbria Business Growth Hub.
